Projekt :: Restaurierung McLaren M 1 A
Vor einigen Jahren bekam ich eine Anfrage aus den USA, welchen Farbton ich für meine Cro-Sal Cheetah verwendet hätte, man würde gerade den (Original!) Cro-Sal M 1 A restaurieren. Ich gab den Farbcode weiter und bekam heute folgende Email, die auch die Fotos enthielt:
Hello Pit,
I am the person who did the complete restoration of the REAL ex Ralph Salyer-Gene Crow Cro-Sal Special M1A Mclaren.
You may recall (some years ago) your assisting John Kauffman and myself in determining the exact right color of blue used on the Cro-Sal cars, you gave John the formula of the paint.
It turned out that the color was a perfect match to the Cro-Sal cars!
I know the fellow who owns the Cro-Sal Special Cheetah, once we had the paint mixed we sprayed some samples, I sent one sample to Al who compared it to the Cheetah itself.
Al called me to say the paint matched exactly.
I finished restoring the car in June of 2008.
It is currently owned & raced in Vintage events out of Scottsdale, AZ.
So, I'd like to thank you very much for your invaluable help, the car is beautiful!
I've attached three photos of the car as it ran this past summer at the Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca Raceway.........
